Duterte personally took charge in digging up Mike Sueno’s dirty deals

Apr 4, 2017 @ 14:49

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that President Rodrigo Duterte himself looked into the alleged corrupt deals and abuses of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mike Sueno who was fired from office in a Cabinet meeting Monday night.

“The President has done due diligence and so he has checked into the matter and some people — some, you know, and apparently he has taken note of several legally untenable situations,” said Abella who declined to go into specific transactions.

Abella said that Duterte, as a prosecutor, did not rely only on what Sueno’s undersecretaries had exposed as Sueno’s dirty deals in a letter sent to the President.

“It’s more than just the letters. He has apparently some — some insight into the situation. You know, the President is a lawyer and you have to give it to him. He does due diligence,” said Abella.

He said the public has to wait if the President would file charges against Sueno.
