Duterte praises Sara for being tough: Bata pa lang alpha na!
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s punching of a sheriff years ago no longer came as a surprise to her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, considering how she’s been tough even as a kid.
In a speech at a Davao hospital’s centennial celebration Friday (August 11), Duterte recalled how Sara helped him in running their household when his former wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, went to the United States following their separation.
“And for a time, I was managing a family. And it was really Inday who was running the show. ‘This is our allowance, this is the… for gasoline, ganon,'” he said.
“Maski nung maliit pa ‘yan sila, alpha na talaga ‘yan si Inday. Walang kumakasa diyan,” Duterte said.
Sara punched a court sheriff four times in 2011 for his insistence on demolishing houses inside a contested property in Davao City.
The mayor admitted she lost her temper when the court sheriff insisted on serving the notice of eviction for the residents when she asked for a two-hour delay to wait for a Court of Appeals’ ruling on the matter.
