Duterte is really ‘superman’: I am beyond pain politically
President Rodrigo Duterte admits to taking a heavy dose of painkiller, Fentanyl, to cope with a nagging spinal injury he suffered from a motorcycle mishap.
But he doesn’t need painkillers for the hurt he’s been taking from the opposition.
Duterte is really a “superman” because he claims to be immune to pain in the world of politikos.
“I’m beyond pain politically because I don’t have any other ambitions. Di na ko kadagan, I am focused on my work,” said Duterte in an interview in Davao del Sur.
The political opposition has revived accusations against Duterte that he created and controlled the Davao Death Squad during his two decades as mayor with two whistleblowers – SPO3 Arthur Lascanas and self-confessed hitman Edgar Matobato – giving senators a supposedly insider account of the hit squad.
“These are the kinds of critics that we have to pass by and maybe some supporters of mine are offended,” said Duterte.
Duterte also distanced himself from the political intrigues thrown the way of his successor, Vice President Leni Robredo.
“No, no, no, no. It will die. And I won the presidency in the first place… Why would I bother myself with that kind of garbage? It’s not my job, and even when I was mayor vis-à-vis with my political opponents. I never really used black propaganda,” said Duterte.
