Duterte slams NPA for violating holiday truce: Walang honor talaga mga p— ina!
President Rodrigo Duterte has scored the New People’s Army anew for allegedly violating their own ceasefire declaration for the holiday season.
Duterte lashed out at the NPA Wednesday (December 27), a day after the Philippine Army accused the communist rebels of attacking a member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary in Compostela Valley.
“Itong mga komunistang ito hambugero. Kung mag-salita, kala mo sino. Sabi ko, ‘Kaya ikaw, mga terorista kayo.’ Tingnan mo, ceasefire, may—saan ba ‘yun? May inatake na naman sila. Walang honor talaga itong mga p— inang ‘to. L—,” he said during a briefing of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s briefing in Sagada, Tubod on the effects of cyclone Vinta in the Lanao province.
“But I did not declare war with them. Akin, unilateral ‘yung akin. Hindi kasi—hindi naman lahat ng… There was not… no, no agreement between us and the NPA. Kaya ang forces of government are free to operate. Eh inumpisahan nila eh,” he added.
The government has declared a holiday ceasefire from 6 p.m. of December 23 to 11:59 p.m. of December 26, and from 6 p.m. of December 30 to 11:59 p.m. of January 2, 2018.
The NPA’s ideological wing, the Communist Party of the Philippines, declared its own ceasefire from 6 p.m. of December 23 to 6 p.m. of December 26, and from 6 p.m. of December 30 to 6 p.m. of Jan. 2, 2018.
Duterte has named the NPA a terrorist organization following the collapse of peace talks.
