Duterte still pissed at ABS-CBN: Its telenovelas are good, but the news is garbage
Almost a year has passed but President Rodrigo Duterte still can’t get over what ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. did to him a few days before election day in May 2016.
The President has not forgotten ABS-CBN management’s decision not to air his political ads in reply to an “anti-Duterte” political ad aired by the giant network and paid for by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV. The ad used children in speaking out against Duterte’s cursing at the Pope, rape joke about an Australian lay minister and his affinity to the communists.
“Ito namang p*tang i** ABS-CBN diyan. Sus. Itong ABS, nagbayad kami ha, asking for time. Tinanggap nila ang pera but they never give us the slot,” said Duterte.
Aside from the blocking his TV ads, Duterte also lashed out at ABS-CBN for giving credence to Trillanes claim that he had P211 million hidden wealth stashed in undeclared bank accounts at the Ortigas branch of the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
Ngayon, even if I have one half of it. Maski kalahati lang, p*tang i** mag-resign ako bukas pagka-Presidente. Ilabas ninyo. Ilabas ninyo,” he added.
Duterte spoke about what he thought about ABS-CBN’s news coverage.
Pero sa news, you’re… p*tang i** garbage,” said Duterte.
