Duterte to appoint new Cabinet members tomorrow, says Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to announce on Tuesday new appointees who will replace those running for public office in the May 2019 midterm elections.
“More likely tomorrow since there is a Cabinet meeting. The President will be announcing certain appointees to the government,” Duterte’s mouthpiece Salvador Panelo said on Monday.
Duterte has yet to fill the posts vacated by former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go.
Both Tolentino and Go will run for a Senate seat next year.
Panelo, on one hand, said the executive order that will create the Office of the Press Secretary is in the offing.
“No executive order yet. It is still under… it’s being processed,” the spokesperson told reporters.
