Duterte to promote inclusive, sustainable dev’t at ASEAN Leaders’ meet

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to touch on “bilateral issues of mutual importance” at the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering in Bali, Indonesia.
The meeting of ASEAN member states will be held at the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort at 4:30 p.m. today, October 11.
Duterte will “highlight the need to sustain inclusive and sustainable growth and development for all through stronger regional and global cooperation and greater security and stability,” a statement from Malacañang read.
It assured that the Philippines will “actively participate and support ASEAN and ASEAN-centered efforts in order to advance shared aspirations for greater peace, progress and prosperity for the Southeast Asian region.”
Joining Duterte in Indonesia are Foreign Affairs Secreary Alan Cayetano, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, Budget and Management Secretary Benjamin Diokno, National Economic and Development Authority Director-General Ernesto Pernia, Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go, and Presidential Communications Operations Office Scretary Martin Andanar.
Duterte will return to the country inmediately after the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering.
