Duterte wants PNP back in drug war if PDEA fails: I don’t give a sh*t if critics raise hell
The police might be back in the war on drugs soon.
President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday (November 12) said he will order the Philippine National Police to be involved in the drug war again if the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) fails to curb drug trade.
“Titignan ko lang kung tataas, pagka tataas babalik ang pulis. ‘Pag magbalik ang pulis, ‘yun ang trabaho nila, destroy the drug syndicates. How? Gamitin na ninyo ang pagkapulis ninyo, pagkasundalo ninyo,” he said.
Duterte said police need not worry about facing cases since he will take care of them.
“Hayaan mo silang magreklamo nang magreklamo. Let them raise hell. I do not really give a s***. Ulitin ko ‘yan,” he said.
Duterte ordered PDEA to take the lead in going after drug pushers in October, amid mounting public criticism about the bloody drug war.
He said he will not meddle in PDEA’s job.
This time, however, Duterte said he is bent on fulfilling his campaign promise to stamp out the illegal drug trade.
“Kung aabot ako diyan ng limang taon plus at wala akong nagawa, at ang corruption pa rin nandiyan, ay mag-resign na lang ako,” he said.
