President Rodrigo Duterte has warned policemen against using public resources for private gain.
Duterte made the remark during the distribution of certificates and awards to the graduates of the Motorcycle Riding Course and Motorcycle Riding Safety Training in Davao City Friday.
“Let me also remind you that whenever you use your motorcycles in the line of duty, you do so as agents of government and protectors of our people,” said the chief executive.
“Never allow yourselves to be tempted to make a profit out of it by offering services to private sector,” he added.
Duterte said that erring law enforcers would be held accountable.
In his speech, the President also urged the graduates to “remain steadfast in their crucial role in promoting the proper safety mindset [and] driving proficiency which ensure the safety of our road and traffic conditions.”
