Duterte won’t meddle in Sara’s feud with Alvarez: Nanununtok anak ko!
President Rodrigo Duterte will not try to patch things up between his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, and House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
In a March 13 meeting with select journalists, including Philippine Star editor Marichu Villanueva, Duterte said he didn’t want to take sides in the fight because of what Sara can do.
“I don’t want to meddle because she punches people. Didn’t she punch that fiscal before?” Duterte said.
In 2011, Sara punched a fiscal who refused to grant her request to delay the demolition of shanties in a barangay in Davao City.
The mayor called Alvarez an “asshole” for accusing her of belonging to the opposition because she formed her own political party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
Duterte, however, said Alvarez’s assumption about Hugpong is wrong.
“[It] has been there long before she (Sara) entered politics,” he said.
