Duterte’s advice to cops guarding De Lima in Camp Crame: Huwag kayo lumapit diyan

President Rodrigo Duterte has some advice to the police assigned to guard Senator Leila de Lima at the Philippine National Police custodial center in Camp Crame.

In a speech in Bangkok Wednesday, Duterte expressed in jest his concern that one of the guards might be “fancied” by de Lima who has had romantic relationships with her guards and drivers, including her co-accused in the drug case Ronnie Dayan.

Duterte said the country’s biggest tragedy was that that de Lima herself, as then Justice Secretary, abetted the drug operations under her watch.

Iyan una. Sino ang sunod? De Lima. [crowd shouts: “boo”] Gusto ako ipatanggal. Anong ginawa? Iyan ang tragedy sabi nga nila eh.

“The tragedy is siya yung Secretary of Justice. Hawak niya yung presuhan. Siya mismo went into trafficking. No bail iyan,” he said.

He said this was the reason why she was plotting to remove him. “Kaya sige sulat. Sige mura sa akin. Ayaw pang admitahin. Pero yung aso na palakad -lakad doon sa tabi ng kama yung aso niya dala dala niya kung magpunta siya sa labas,” said Duterte referring to de Lima’s alleged sex video which his administration has not yet been verified nor publicized.
