Ejercito clashes with Gordon on criminal raps vs Aquino over Dengvaxia

Senator JV Ejercito does not agree with Senator Dick Gordon on the filing of criminal charges against former President Noynoy Aquino.
“Doon sa criminal case, siya (Aquino) ‘yung last doon sa akin eh,” said Ejercito, who chairs the Senate health committee.
Ejercito maintained that department secretaries under Aquino are primarily liable for the Dengvaxia mess, as the former president only relied on the advice of his Cabinet members.
“Pagdating sa presidente ‘yung papeles pipirimhan niya, sabi ko nga, he must presume that all the due diligence all the research, investigation have been completed,” Ejercito said.
This runs counter to Senate Blue Ribbon committee chair Dick Gordon, who, ahead of the final committee report, said he will recommend the filing of criminal cases against Aquino.
“At the very least, may dereliction of duty, may negligence, so gross as to amount to bad faith at talagang violation of the procurement law,” Gordon said in an interview with reporters Tuesday (March 13).
Gordon eyes releasing the committee report before March 20.
