Enrile to tap social media, volunteers to win Senate bid: I don’t have much money
Former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile has a limited budget for his Senate campaign, opting to rely on volunteers and social media to boost his chances in the 2019 elections.
“I am not going to spend a large amount of money to get a seat in the Senate. I will campaign on a limited budget. I do not have that much money to spend. Even if I have, I do not wish anyone to say that I am buying or that I bought my seat in the Senate,” he wrote on Facebook.
He said his campaign would be simple, adding he would avoid any large and elaborate campaign organization. The former senator will also only hire a skeletal campaign staff and will use the least amount of propaganda.
“My plan is to enlist and rely on the goodwill of volunteers from the ranks of my relatives, friends, and supporters. I welcome the assistance of those who care to help me,” eh said.
“By and large, I will depend on the Internet, the social media, cellular telephones, and other legitimate channels of communications to reach out to our people and bring to them my messages, issues, and proposals,” he added.
