Erdogan drops the word ‘Nazi’ again
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan again hurled an accusation against German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Turkey and Germany had a row after German authorities, over security concerns, took back permission for rallies where Turkish ministers were supposed to speak to expatriates ahead of a referendum on expanding presidential powers.
“When we call them Nazis they (Europe) get uncomfortable. They rally together in solidarity. Especially Merkel,” Agence France-Presse, in an article published online on March 19, quoted Erdogan as saying in a televised speech.
“But you are right now employing Nazi measures,” Erdogan said referring to the German leader, according to the article.
“Against who? My Turkish brother citizens in Germany and brother ministers,” he said.
