Ateneo de Manila University’s Rizal Library will be bringing books and the love for reading closer to Ateneans with the events it has lined up to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Rizal Library kicked off the 50-day countdown for its golden anniversary with performances from Blue Symphony and Entablado. Renowned history professor Ambeth Ocampo also gave a fun lecture on Rizal, Ateneo and Rizal Library as part of the “Lib Step” lecture series.

Ateneans also got a free tub of popcorn when they passed by the library.

The “Lib Step Series” lectures will resume on October 10 with a lecture by Jim Paredes. This will be followed by screenings of fHihintayin KIta sa Langit and Minsan Lang Sila Bata on October 18 and 25, respectively.

Entablado, a student theater group, will also stage Batang Rizal, which was penned by writer Christine Bellen. There will be screenings on select dates throughout October.
