Feeling important? Xi says China must lead efforts for ‘new world order’
Chinese President Xi Jinping says that his country should guide the international community in building a new world order.
He made the statement in a national security seminar in Beijing last week.
“The overall trend of world multi-polarization, economic globalization, and democratization of international relations remains unchanged. We should guide the international community to jointly build a more just and reasonable new world order,” Xi said, according to a Quartz article dated February 22 which cited a paraphrase by state-run news agency Xinhua.
“We should guide the international community to jointly maintain international security,” he said, according to the same article which cited another paraphrase by Xinhua.
The Quartz article said that it was the first time that Xi made such a move.
