Galaw-galaw naman! Robredo urges Duterte admin anew to move faster vs. inflation
Vice President Leni Robredo reiterated her call on the Duterte administration to move faster to ease the effects of inflation on poor Filipinos.
In an interview in Bacolod City, Robredo noted that warning signs have been present since early this year, which the administration chose to ignore.
“Malaki talaga ‘yong pagkukulang ng pamahalaan… ‘yong inaction. Matagal nang may problema, mayroon pang ‘di pagkakaintindihan sa loob,” she said.
“‘Yong sa akin lang, sana kapag gutom, kapag sikmura na ng mga kababayan natin, medyo bilisan ‘yong aksyon. Hindi puwedeng babagal-bagalan, kasi ‘yong araw-araw na lumilipas, napakahalaga sa ating mga kababayan,” she added.
The Vice President and allies from the opposition have repeatedly called on the administration to lay out a number of solutions, including the suspension of excise tax on fuel and the complete roll-out of unconditional cash transfer for all 10 million families targeted under TRAIN 1.
She has also called on the administration to review whether the P200-a-month provided to the said families under the UCT would be enough, since the high inflation rate was not taken into consideration when the provisions were being crafted.
