Gigil sa galit! Duterte reveals wanting to kick ex-DBM USec De Leon: Nahiya lang ako kay Medialdea
President Rodrigo Duterte wanted to kick the undersecretary of the Department of Budget and Management he fired because he was enraged over the official’s misuse of public funds.
In a speech at the Department of Labor and Employment’s 84th anniversary celebration in Bulacan Friday (December 8), Duterte said he wanted to kick former DBM undersecretary Gertrudo De Leon in the face when they met in Malacañang.
“The last that I fired, ‘yung undersecretary mismo ng Budget sa ‘yun sa Malacañang. Gusto kong sipain sa mukha eh, sa totoo lang. Nahiya lang ako kasi nandiyan si Medialdea, kaibigan niya,” he said.
“I fired him. Wala sa labas — diyan mismo sa — pinaikot-ikot ‘yung pera sa…sabi ko, p****** i** ka,” he added.
Duterte joked he was so angry at De Leon that he also wanted to kick the latter’s foot since he cannot aim for the face.
“Gusto kong sipain sa mukha, hindi ko man kaya kasi baka magtingin, eh sinimple ko na lang dito sa baba. Sana may kalyo ka para mag aruy-aruy ka,” he said.
Duterte never mentioned De Leon’s name when he mentioned about a DBM official he fired in a speech on October 19 over alleged corruption.
“There were 3 employees in my office, influence-peddling. This one was tinkering with the money, I told you stop. S-T-O-P,” he said in a speech during a Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry event in Manila.
Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno, however, confirmed De Leon was the official sacked by Duterte.
De Leon, an abogado, worked at the law firm owned by Medialdea and Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Menardo Guevarra after passing the bar exams in 1992.
