Going global! Washington Post calls Bong Go a selfie savant
It’s not just ordinary Filipinos who’s taking notice of Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go’s savviness in taking selfies with world renowned personalities.
The Washington Post on Tuesday (November 14) posted an article on Go titled “Duterte’s assistant is a selfie king and nailed his shot with Trump.”
The feature, written by correspondent Emily Rauhala, depicts Go as a tireless selfie taker at the ASEAN Summit in Manila, snapping photos not just with United States President Donald Trump, but also Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
“Posing with the likes of Shinzo Abe of Japan, Moon Jae-in of South Korea and Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev, among many, many, others, would have exhausted most men. Go was not close to finished, pursuing the selfie-lover’s showpiece: a picture with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,” Rauhala wrote.
The article was filled with photos Go shared on his Facebook page with the prominent international politikos he snapped a selfie with.
The Washington Post acknowledged Go’s status as a powerful gatekeeper within Duterte’s circle, saying he “sometimes gives the world its first or only glimpse of what goes on behind close doors at high-level meetings,” such as the first encounter of Trump and President Rodrigo Duterte.
