Going strong! Duterte keeps high trust, approval ratings- Pulse Asia
President Rodrigo Duterte continues to enjoy high trust and approval ratings more than a year into his term, according to the latest survey by Pulse Asia.
Results of the poll released Friday (October 13) showed Duterte with an 80-percent approval rating, which is slightly lower than the 82 percent he posted in June.
Four out of five Filipinos or 80 percent, have “big trust” in him.
Filipinos in Class E have the highest trust in and approval for Duterte at 85 percent.
Meanwhile, 80 percent of Class D members approve of him, and 74 percent of Class ABC share the same sentiment.
Despite the slight decline, Duterte has the highest approval and trust ratings among the top officials of government.
Vice President Leni Robredo’s approval and trust ratings are at 57 percent and 55 percent, respectively; Aquilino Pimentel III, 55 percent and 52 percent; House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, 47 percent and 49 percent; and Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno with 43 percent and 44 percent.
Among the events which dominated the headlines during the survey period of September 24 to 30 were the Senate investigation into the P6.4-billion shabu shipment from China, the sacking of the Caloocan police force following the death of youngsters Carl Angelo Arnaiz and Reynaldo de Guzman, the commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the proclamation of martial law, and Duterte’s threat to investigate the Office of the Ombudsman after it was announced that the anti-graft body was looking into his wealth.
The Pulse Asia survey has a margin of error of ± 3% error margin at the 95 percent confidence level.
