Got inked! Politikos cast ballots in barangay elections
They voted! Politikos stepped out bright and early to cast their ballot in this year’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
From Vice President Leni Robredo, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, Senator Kiko Pangilinan to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, the politikos have shown proof they hit the polling precinct by sharing photos on their social media accounts.
“Exercise your right to rock the vote! Salamat sa mga guro na patuloy na nakangiti habang pinagsisilbihan ang bayan ngayon. Salamat sa lahat ng Pilipinong bumuboto sa araw na ito. May bagong pag-asa na linilikha ang inyong bawat desisyon. ✍️🗳️🇵🇭,” Pangalinan said.
Erap and his daughter Jerika Ejercito also showed their inked fingers after voting in an Instagram photo. “doin’ what we do😎,” Jerika said.
Robredo, who cast her ballot in her hometown, said she was saddened by the low turnout of voters.
“Much like our city and national polls, electing barangay officials is important as they stand to be the first unit of government we can turn to in times of need in the community. I hope that the winners of this elections will remember the value of public service and the mandate entrusted to them by the people,” she wrote on Facebook.
