Guevarra mourns passing of ex- Justice Minister Puno
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Wednesday (July 25) expressed grief over the passing of former Justice Minister Ricardo Puno.
“The entire DOJ (Department of Justice) family grieves the passing of one of their most illustrious department secretaries, who served as head of the agency for several years,” he said.
“Upon the request of the late SOJ Ricardo Puno’s family, we shall hold a brief necrological service at the DOJ on Friday morning,” he noted.
In his Facebook post, Puno’s son, former Antipolo City Rep. Robbie Puno, disclosed Wednesday of his father’s passing.
Late strongman Ferdinand Marcos had appointed Puno as Justice Minister from 1979 to 1984.
Apart from this, Puno had been an Assemblyman of the Batasan Pambansa from 1978 to 1979 and Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice from 1973 to 1978.
