Guevarra orders NBI to probe death of 5 PDEA agents in Lanao del Sur
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has directed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) investigate the deaths of five Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents who were killed in an ambush in Lanao del Sur last October 5.
“I have instructed Director Dante Gierran to investigate the killing of the five PDEA agents in Lanao del Sur and identify the people responsible for this act of cowardice against our anti-narcotics agents,” he said.
With this, the Secretary also instructed the NBI to prioritize the investigation and build a strong case against the perpetrators.
Those slain were identified as The slain PDEA agents were Kenneth Tabulo, Kristine Mae Torlao, Lores Joy Amar, Binzo Dipolla, and Diobel Pacinio.
They had just attended a program for drug surrenderers when they got ambushed while onboard a white van going to Marawi City.
Two other persons were also wounded in the ambush and were identified as Rachel Gentapanan and Normina Dicay.
