High times are over: Bato dela Rosa ties up with owners of BGC, Makati bars vs. drugs
As the Duterte administration intensifies its anti-drug campaign, it has trained its sights on upscale bars and clubs where expensive party drugs are reportedly sold.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald dela Rosa and other high ranking police officials are set to meet with owners of swanky bars and clubs in Makati and Bonifacio Global City Wednesday night (August 24) to discuss the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.
The meeting will take place at the Cafe Naya at the Palace Pool Club in Taguig City.
Southern Police District (SPD) chief Senior Superintendent Tomas Apolinario said Dela Rosa will discuss with the owners the PNP’s directive and policies concerning illegal drugs in bars and clubs.
“Non-adherence to these policies may be grounds for recommending for revocation of their business permits,” Apolinario said.
Patrons of the upscale bars and clubs— which include famous personalities and celebrities— are allegedly among the clients of suspected drug pusher Emilio Lim and his girlfriend, radio disc jockey Karen Bordador.
The two were arrested in a buy-bust operation last August 13.
