Huling habilin: De Castro asks PNP to solve killing of Ozamiz judge
Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo-De Castro has called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to solve the killing of Ozamis City Judge Edmundo Pintac.
“I’m calling on the Philippine National Police to exert all means and efforts to apprehend the perpetrators at the soonest possible time. I have also instructed the Court Administrator to coordinate with all law enforcement officers to bring to justice those responsible for this crime,” De Castro said in a statement.
De Castro who expressed sadness over the death of PIntac also condoled with the family left behind by the slain magistrate.
“Our prayers and sympathies go out to the family of Judge Pintac. May they find strength in this moment of grief.
Pintac was on his way home when he was ambushed at around 4:20 p.m. Monday (Oct. 8) in Purok 2-B, Barangay Banadero in Ozamiz City.
The judge is handling the drug cases against Ozamis Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Jr.
Pintac had already junked back in the Parojinog siblings request to attend the funeral of their parents who were killed in illegal drugs operations.
