Ingrato! Farinas blasts Trillanes for being a self-appointed ’moral compass’ who thinks he can stage mutinies any time, attack everyone

May 18, 2017 @ 18:18

House Majority Leader Rodolfo Farinas is not letting Senator Antonio Trillanes IV get away with low blows against him after the Ilocos Norte politiko threatened to file an ethics case against a fellow Magdalo mutineer, Rep. Gary Alejano.

“He (Trillanes) thinks he is our moral compass who has the authority to stage a failed coup and attack everyone he pleases. He defends the right of Rep. Alejano to file cases against the President, but does not grant me the same right to file a case against him for perjury or an ethics case. Who has twisted morals?” said Farinas in a text message.
Trillanes had earlier said Farinas must have “twisted morals” for punishing Alejano for “doing what is right” (impeaching President Rodrigo Duterte) while “vigorously defending the corrupt and murdering ways of his mob boss Duterte.”
“This guys must either have disturbingly twisted morals or very high on something,” said Trillanes.

Trillanes called Farinas a “poor lawyer” but Farinas took this as a “compliment coming from him (Trillanes) who does not not the law.”

As a final shot, Farinas reminded Trillanes that he was the one who sponsored and defended on the floor a bill pushing to grant amnesty to him and the rest of the Magdalo mutineers during the 15th Congress.
Then President Aquino signed the amnesty bill on October 2010 which freed Trillanes and other soldiers involved in the Oakwood Mutiny in July 2003, the Marine standoff last February 2006 and the Manila Peninsula siege in November 2007.

“There were many who opposed the amnesty and I, as Senior Vice Chair of the Justice Committee defended it with Rep. Niel Tupas on the floor. That is how they got their freedom, political and civil rights back. That is the only instance of twisted morals that I committed ,” said Farinas.
