Instant promotion! Faeldon named BuCor chief as Bato pursues senatorial bid
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon will be taking over as chief of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Guevarra disclosed this after BuCor Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Friday (Oct. 12) as makes a run for the senate at the 2019 polls.
“The president has chosen Nicanor E. Faeldon to replace Ronald ‘Bato’ de la Rosa as director general of the Bureau of Corrections,” he said.
“The DOJ (Department of Justice) has interposed no objections to the proposed appointment of Mr. Faeldon, and is now seeking the favorable endorsement of the Civil Service Commission as part of the requirements under the Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013,” he added.
The retired Philippine National Police (PNP) will be running under the ruling PDP-Laban.
