Into the eye of the storm! Duterte orders men to go to ‘Ompong’-hit areas

President Rodrigo Duterte asked two of his Cabinet officials to closely monitor the effects of typhoon “Ompong” in their respective provinces.
“The most accurate way of finding out ano talaga nangyayari is for (Transportation Secretary Arthur) Tugade who comes from Cagayan; and (Labor Secretary Silvestre) Bello III who comes from Isabela to go home there now and watch their own province,” Duterte said.
The chief executive on Thursday presided a command conference on typhoon Ompong at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council office in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
“Any crisis you have to reckon with Murphy’s Law. We have the estimates and we have the projections and the reckonings and all. But we would not… it ain’t there until it is there,” the President said.
Murphy’s Law is a rule that states that, “things will go wrong in any situation, if you give them a chance.”
Duterte added, “So pagkaganoon, anything can go wrong outside the projections or sudden shift of that idiot typhoon crawling towards north Luzon.”
State weather bureau PAGASA said Ompong is expected to make landfall in northern Cagayan in the early morning of Saturday.
