Ipapatumba? Trillanes’ security detail recalled anew
By Xave Gregorio
Police have recalled opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s security detail pending the resolution of his cases in two Makati courts.
Trillanes’ office confirmed to Senate reporters that his police security detail was recalled last September 4, the same day when President Rodrigo Duterte’s Proclamation No. 572 was published in The Manila Times.
Proclamation No. 572 declared Trillanes’ amnesty as void from the start due to his alleged failure to file for amnesty and to admit guilt to participating in two failed mutinies against former President, now Speaker, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
In June, Trillanes’ police escorts were also recalled, apparently without reason.
“I know how to take care of myself. Pero hindi rin naman ako paranoid, ano. I’m a fatalist. I know God has a plan. Kung oras mo, oras mo. Diba?” Trillanes told reporters when asked about this in July.
Police gave back Trillanes two cops after media reported that his security detail was recalled.
