Is Harry Roque quitting as spokesperson?

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. has confirmed that President Duterte offered him a new post “which currently does not exist yet.”
But, Roque, who is reportedly eyeing a Senate seat in the 2019 elections, said he told Duterte to give him a “weekend” to consider the opportunity.
“While there was no categorical agreement on what to do, I did say I will consider it and I wanted a weekend to think it over,” he said in a press briefing on Friday.
The Palace official said he was “taken aback” at the chief executive’s admission that he went to a hospital on Wednesday for some tests.
“I did not lie to anyone because I simply did not know. And in my decision on whether or not to run or to accept whatever the office the President may have, I will consider the fact that in this capacity of spokesperson, I must know everything about the President,” Roque said.
“I do concede that his going to that diagnostic exam was something that I did not know, and therefore I am inclined to believe that perhaps I am not in a position to continue with this current function,” he added.
