It’s official: Duterte signs Faeldon’s appointment as Bucor chief
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra announced on Tuesday (Nov. 20) that President Rodrigo Duterte signed former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon’s appointment as chief of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
“Nicanor Faeldon’s appointment papers as director general of the BUCOR have been signed by the President and ready for release by the executive secretary,” he said.
Earlier, Guevarra, who broke the news last October about Faeldon being named to the post, made the assurance that the appointment was no fake news.
Faeldon previously insisted he has yet to receive any appointment letter and would not be foolish to assume the BuCor post without it.
Faeldon raplaces as BuCor chief retired Police Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa who filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) last Oct. 12 for senator.
