Janet Napoles seeks house arrest for tell-all testimony: How can a HS grad twist senators, congressmen around her finger?

May 12, 2017 @ 15:07

Janet Lim Napoles is willing to unmask the real mastermind in the multi-billion peso pork barrel scam in exchange for granting her house arrest in her plunder cases.

Napoles lawyer Stephen David told DZMM: “Si Janet is just a high school graduate. Maniniwala ka bang kaya niyang i-manipulate ang buong Senado at Kongreso?”

In an interview with reporters after a closed door meeting with Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, David said Napoles would name an Aquino administration official as the real mastermind behind the scam.

“Of course, there will be more officials. If she will become state witness, she should tell everything she knows… whoever is involved should really be exposed. Whatever the truth is, it should come out. Because the truth will set you free,” David said.

David said that Napoles had long offered to be a state witness but the previous administration rejected her offer because she would implicate administration lawmakers and government officials in the pork scam.

David, a close ally and fellow San Beda Law School alumni of President Rodrigo Duterte, said Napoles has renewed her offer to tell all in exchange for allowing her to leave her Taguig jail cell for a house arrest. David claimed that Napoles had been getting death threats inside her detention cell.

“There were instances when her belongings were scattered inside her cell as if looking for something and almost every night she started feeling uneasy for she felt someone is intently watching her. These are the public officials who want Mrs. Napoles to keep silent and not expose her knowledge on the issues,” said David.
