JV reminds Grace: Ronnie Zamora dumped FPJ in 2004
Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito has urged Senator Grace Poe to take the pledge of support given by the family of House Minority Leader Ronaldo Zamora with a grain of salt considering their history of “betraying people.”
Ejercito noted that the Zamoras backed former senator Panfilo Lacson when he ran for president against Poe’s adoptive father, the late actor Fernando Poe Jr., in 2004 even when they claimed to be related to the senator’s husband, Neil Llamanzares.
“The camp of Sen. Poe should be careful of them. They have a history of betraying people,” Ejercito said in a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The son of former President Joseph Estrada said that in contrast, their family has always stood by the Poes.
“We have been consistent in supporting FPJ and Sen. Grace Poe,” he said.
The Ejercito-Estrada clan are engaged in a bitter political war with the Zamoras over control of San Juan City in the upcoming polls, with JV’s mother Guia Gomez set to run for reelection against Vice Mayor Francis Zamora, the House leader’s son.
Gomez will have as her running mate Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s daughter, Janella Estrada, while niece Jannah Ejercito will run for a congressional seat.
