Kaduda-duda na: Guevarra wants overhaul of DOJ’s image

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra admitted that the Department of Justice (DOJ) needs a makeover.
“The building remains the same but it’s somehow corroded inside,” he said during his first flag-raising ceremony at the DOJ on Monday (April 16).
“It looks solid but its structural integrity is suspect both literally and metaphorically,” he pointed out.
Because of this, Guevarra said he has taken upon himself to make it his personal mission “to restore the DOJ’s dignified and respectable image to make it a cornerstone and not a mere pillar of our justice system.”
As he makes this commitment, he also asked the DOJ executives and its personnel to help him.
“I can’t do it alone,” he admitted.
“I need you, all of you to star an inner revolution of our values to adopt an attitude that puts premium on the interest of the people we serve especially the underpriviledged and the oppressed over and above our individual self interest,” he explained.
