Kahit walang sorry: Calida forgives Trillanes over ‘thief’ tag
Solicitor General Jose Calida has decided to forgive Senator Antonio Trillanes IV who for calling him a thief.
“We’ll forgive those who have sinned against us,” he said on Tuesday (October 9).
Calida made this assurance even though Trillanes refused to apologize for calling the solicitor general a thief.
The solicitor general had already threatened to sue Trillanes if the lawmaker did not make the apology.
“He said he won’t apologize. Maybe I will just forgive him,” Calida said.
The senator had called Calida a thief for allegedly stealing the lawmaker’s amnesty application.
The missing application remains crucial in determining if the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) will reopen the charges against Trillanes concerning his participation in the 2003 Oakwood mutiny and 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.
