Kalma lang! Guevarra tells cops to wait for arrest warrant before fetching Trillanes
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has advised the Philippine National Police (PNP) to wait for the court to issue an arrest warrant against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
“The police will have to wait for the warrant,” he said.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has already filed a motion before the Makati City regional trial court (RTC) asking that an alias arrest warrant and hold departure order (HDO) be issued against Trillanes.
While the RTC has yet to issue an arrest warrant, Guevarra assured that Trillanes remains a free man.
Since Tuesday (Sept. 4), police have been seen hanging around the Senate ready to arrest Trillanes after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered to have the senator’s amnesty voided.
Guevarra earlier explained that the amnesty was voided after Trillanes was found to have failed to comply with the requirements of his amnesty.
