Kanya-kanyang bayad: Andanar says no budget for bloggers accredited to cover Duterte
Bloggers and netizens who will be accredited to cover President Rodrigo Duterte will have to shell out their own money at his events.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar on Tuesday (August 15) said his office has not set funds aside for netizens who will cover the President.
“Wala pong budget ang naisama paransa bloggers accreditation, ang blogger will ge spending on their own in covering the President” he said during the congressional hearing on the Presidential Communications Operations Office’s proposed budget for 2018.
Andanar has released Department Order No. 15 outlining rules for accrediting social media practitioners to cover the President.
To be eligible for accreditation, one must be 18 years old and have at least 5,000 followers on any online platform.
The accreditation, however, is on a per-event basis.
