Kris Aquino tells Belmontes: No need to put me down, QC is ‘safe’
Kris Aquino has taken a dig at the Belmontes after their tabloid, Pilipino Star Ngayon, wrote an unflattering headline about her appearance at the “Crazy Rich Asians” premiere in Hollywood.
In a tweet posted Saturday (August 11), Aquino said there’s no need for the Belmontes to put her down.
“FYI po sa pamilyang nagpapatakbo ng @pilstarngayon, no need akong i-down. Kakapirma today ng 2 year contract w/ P&G- may no political participation clause. So safe na safe ang QC,” she said.
Aquino’s beef with Pilipino Star Ngayon stemmed from its headline, “Kris nilaglag sa pictorial sa leading newspapers at website sa US!”
The actress, however, explained in an Instagram post reply that she missed the red carpet photo op because she was busy talking to the Filipinos who went to the premiere venue to see her.
Aquino ended her tweet with an advice to Pilipino Star Ngayon to have “a little more subtlety.”
“Halata tuloy na insecure,” she quipped.
Aquino has often been rumored to be running for public office. She is a registered voter in Quezon City, which has fueled speculation she might run for mayor.
Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte will be running for mayor in 2019.
However, Aquino has said she is unlikely to consider entering politics until 2020 because of her endorsements.
She also said she does not want to become a politiko until she reaches bilyonaryo status first.
Fyi po sa pamilyang nagpapatakbo ng @pilstarngayon no need akong i-down. Kakapirma today ng 2 year contract w/ P&G- may no political participation clause. 😇 So safe na safe ang QC. P.S. next time a little more subtlety- halata tuloy na insecure. #lovelovelove 💛 pic.twitter.com/zfjGPjwUaJ
