Learn from history of martial law, Castro tells Duterte

Jan 11, 2017 @ 20:21

ACT-Teachers Rep. France Castro said that President Rodrigo Duterte ought to learn from the lessons of history as far as implementing martial law is concerned.

“Ang payo natin kay Digong ay matuto siya sa kasaysayan ,” Castro said in a press conference Wednesday, January 11.

The lady politiko gave the statement after Pulse Asia released the results of a survey, which said 7 out of 10 Filipinos oppose the imposition of martial rule.

“Sana itong survey na ito magsilbing eye-opener para kay Presidente Digong,” said Castro, who is a member of the Makabayan bloc.

According to her, Filipinos don’t favor martial law based on how they’ve experienced it at the hands of former president Ferdinand Marcos.

“Kasi sinasabi na nga ng mga Left, sinasabi na ng taumbayan at mga biktima ( ng Martial Law ), at tsaka dapat i-respeto rin intong survey,” she said.

Makabayan solons are identified with the Congress Majority, which is allied with the Duterte administration .
