Leila laments how Internet trolls choose targets: Pag di sumamba kay Poong Duterte, adik!
Senator Leila de Lima on Tuesday (Sept. 20) decried how rigid the classification of people has become under the Duterte administration, with paid Internet trolls viciously attacking anyone who dare to criticize the President.
In a privilege speech, De Lima said anyone who raise a howl against Duterte’s words or action is automatically branded as a drug addict or coddler of drug traders.
De Lima has been critical of the administration’s anti-drug war, expressing alarm at the rise of extrajudicial killings that have occurred under Duterte’s early days in office.
Only recently, the senator led the Senate inquiry on drug-related killings.
In a 14-6 vote Monday (Sept. 19), the Senate ousted De Lima as chairperson of the Senate committee on justice and human rights. She was replaced by Senator Richard Gordon.
