Libre sakay, kanta at tawa: Gina Lopez offers free ride on karaoke jeep
Get ready for the ride of your life.
Former Environment Secretary Gina Lopez is hitting the road to launch her very own “jeepney karaoke” session.
Lopez, widely known not only for her environmental protection advocacy but also her good humor and love for music, recently took over a jeepney with customized karaoke machine and offered free rides to passengers along Quezon Avenue.
In videos posted on Facebook, Lopez started the ball rolling by singing her favorite tune “I Believe I Can Fly” aboard the customized public utility vehicle. The former Cabinet member was later seen trying to convince passengers to get a free ride on the jeepney karaoke only if they would sing.
“We’ll be going around Q.Ave on the karaoke jeep of Kagawad Rudy Avila! Sakay kayo kapag nakita niyo kami,” she said. “Libreng sakay kapag kumanta kayo.”
Several passengers, including students and workers, readily sang their fave karaoke hits before an amused Lopez.
