Lie after lie after lie: Trillanes releases video on Duterte’s deception
“Isa ka ba sa mga naloko ni Duterte?”
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV posed this question at the end of a video that unmasked the supposed lies and deception of the President of the Filipino people.
The video, titled “Mga Panloloko ni Duterte sa mga Pilipino,” started with Duterte’s reluctance to run for president only to change his mind later.
It also highlighted Duterte’s broken promises to double the salary of soldiers, ride a jet ski and plant a Philippine flag on Spratlys, eliminate the drug problem in three to six months in office, resolve rice smuggling in three days, among others.
The video likewise showed the President’s fickle position on the peace talks with the communists as well as how he argued his way out of allegations of unexplained wealth.
At the end of the video, the President is seen delivering public remarks back in December 2016 about the threat of the Maute group to burn down Marawi City. “Go ahead, be my guest. We will wait for you there,” said Duterte, who declared martial law in Mindanao a few months later to quell the Islamic State-inspired terrorism and rebllion in Marawi.
