My lips are sealed: Here’s why Leni won’t comment on Mocha Uson’s appointment to MTRCB
Vice President Leni Robredo has refused to comment on the appointment of sexy performer and blogger Mocha Uson to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), saying her biases might show.
In a press conference in Iloilo City Saturday (Jan. 7), Robredo merely acknowledged President Rodrigo Duterte has the prerogative to appoint whoever he wants to the MTRCB.
“Sa akin iniiwasan kong mag-comment kay Mocha Uson kasi ako ang favorite character niya. Baka iyong biases ko lumabas,” she said.
“Si Pangulo naman mayroon naman siyang karapatan na pumili ng gusto niyang nandiyan. Pero yung appointment mismo kay Mocha hindi ko na lang… Sorry ayaw ko nang mag-comment kasi marami na kaming engagements in the past,” Robredo added.
Uson is known to be critical of Robredo, bashing the Vice President on her Facebook page and accusing her of undermining Duterte’s leadership and wanting him out of power.
The appointment of Uson, an outspoken supporter of Duterte, to the MTRCB has garnered mixed reactions from netizens, with some questioning her qualifications for the post while others believe she is capable of making judgment on calls as to which parts— if any— of movies and television shows must be censored.
