LOOK: Kahit mabasa sa ulan! Robredo leads Independence Day rites at Luneta despite downpour
The non-stop rains did not deter Vice President Leni Robredo from paying respect to the monument of Jose Rizal at Luneta on the celebration of the country’s 120th Independence Day.
Photos from the Office of the Vice President showed Robredo singing the national anthem in front of Rizal’s monument Monday (June 12) despite the downpour.
The Vice President also marched dutifully with the honor guards to lay a wreath at the foot of the monument, without any aide shielding her head with an umbrella.
In her Independence Day message, Robredo expressed confidence that Filipinos can stand up to the challenges they are facing.
