LOOK: Star studded! Duterte, envoys grace Alvarez’s Davao birthday bash
Politikos from all over the country took time off from their busy schedules to fly to Tagum City, Davao del Norte for the 60th birthday celebration of House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
As expected, the guest of honor at Alvarez’s party on Friday (January 12) was none other than President Rodrigo Duterte. The two have been friends since their days in Congress.
Joining Alvarez in the celebration were fellow administration allies, including Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II and Senator Gringo Honasan.
Also in attendance were Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua and Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Khovaev.
In his speech, Duterte wished Alvarez: “Mr. Speaker, I hope that you are married for the last time.”
Earlier this month, Alvarez said in a television interview that he’s willing to marry his girlfriend, Jennifer Maliwanag Vicencio, even though he’s still legally married to his wife.
The Speaker claimed he can marry multiple times because he is a member of the Manobo tribe in Mindanao.
