Makukulong ka rin! Guevarra vows no let up in bid to arrest Trillanes
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has vowed not to drop the case against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV concerning the lawmaker’s participation in the 2003 Oakwood mutiny.
Guevarra made the assurance after Caloocan 2nd District Rep. Edgar Erice told him to give up since Makati Judge Andres Soriano ruled that the case cannot be revived.
“With all due respect, pursuing one to answer for the crime of rebellion or coup d’ etat is not a useless exercise, as it sends a warning signal to all similarly minded persons who have devious plans of endangering the security of the republic,” Guevarra said.
Soriano is handling the coup d’etat case concerning the participation of Trillanes in the Oakwood mutiny.
In pursuing the case against Trillanes, Guevarra said “we’re sending warning signals to other potential rebellion, sedition, and coup d’ etat plotters.”
