Masyadong busy! Koko: No GMA hand in PDP-Laban scuffle

Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is too busy with her work in the House of Representatives, that she could not possibly dip her hand in the scuffle between two factions of ruling party PDP-Laban, party President Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel said.
Asked in a chance interview if he thinks Arroyo is behind the splinter group led by abogado Rogelio Garcia, Pimentel said, “Hindi. She’s too busy with House of Representatives matters.”
Garcia, who was elected last month as the “new” PDP-Laban president in a national assembly dismissed by the ruling party as illegal, has been saying that their group would be electing Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the national council chair.
But Pimentel said Garcia’s group would have to form a new political party if they want this to happen.
“Bakit kasi kailangan pilitin ang sarili na mag-power grab sa partidong pinaghirapan ng iba? Bumuo sila ng sarili nilang party at magbanat kayo ng buto, maghirap kayo from scratch, then that’s your party,” he said.
He is also not concerned that other PDP-Laban members would exit the party if this does happen, saying it would be “good riddance.”
PImentel also said that there is “no issue,” “no complaint,” and “no threat” with the PDP-Laban’s present leadership.
President Rodrigo Duterte interfered in the two groups’ dispute last night, meeting with both of them at the Diamond Hotel in Manila.
Not much has changed, however, with Duterte affirming his loyalty to PDP-Laban, Pimentel said.
