Matindi pa sa Dengvaxia scandal! Ejercito bares P10B PhilHealth scam
Another alleged scandal involving supposed misuse of funds during the Aquino administration is expected to be revealed in a Senate hearing next week.
Sen. JV Ejercito on Friday dropped hints on purported questionable disbursements involving the funds of Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
“Matindi pa sa Dengvaxia! Parehong panahon!!! Grabe!” he said in a text message to reporters.
The chair of the Senate committee on health and demography said the funds in question could amount to P10 billion.
Ejercito vows to dig into the matter when his committee resumes its probe on the status of PhilHealth’s funds on Tuesday.
“Abangan sa Martes,” he said.
During last Tuesday’s hearing by the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee on National Health Insurance, Ejercito already attributed to a possible financial mismanagement of PhilHealth its P4-billion unaudited loss last year.
PhilHealth officer-in-charge (OIC) senior vice president in financial management sector Gregorio Rulloda told lawmakers that last year’s unaudited financial statement, the said amount were brought about by benefit payments for senior citizens, sponsored members and the informal sector.
