May ibubuga pa! Enrile running for senator again
Former senator Juan Ponce Enrile has decided to come out of retirement and attempt a Senate comeback, Politiko has learned.
Politiko’s source said the 94-year-old Enrile will file his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator Tuesday through his abogado, Joseph Sagandoy.
Enrile was reportedly convinced to run for senator again since the pre-election surveys are dominated by re-electionist senators and political personalities.
He is supposedly being eyed by the administration as an additional force in the Senate since the leading candidates in the surveys may not necessarily do President Rodrigo Duterte’s bidding all the time should they win.
Should Enrile win in 2019, he might become the first centenarian senator in case he finishes his six-year term.
