May kasama na si Mocha! Duterte appoints Lorraine Badoy to PCOO
Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson just got an ally in defending and promoting the administration on cyberspace.
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Social Welfare and Development Assistant Secretary Lorraine Badoy as undersecretary at the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said Badoy will be in charge of new media. She will also be the PCOO’s spokesperson.
Duterte signed Badoy’s appointment paper on October 19 but it was only released to the media on Monday (October 23).
In a statement, Andanar said he is looking forward to working with Badoy to “bring the government closer to the people by keeping them informed of the progress this administration is making towards changing the country for the better.”
“We have seen Dr. Badoy’s passion for serving our people in her work at the DSWD. We are confident that the same zeal and enthuasiasm that animated her in caring for the less privileged will enable us to more effectively reach out to more people through new media,” he said.
Badoy was known to have advised the European Union to “engage in porn” after it expressed concern about Duterte’s bloody drug war.
She also called Vice President Leni Robredo a “basurera” for combing through hand-me-downs left on the street for the apartment of her daughter, Aika, near Harvard University.
